FastDomain in a New Look

We gave FastDomain a full visual overhaul. The landing page has been rebuilt from the ground up with a new hero section, updated demo video, and a cleaner content structure that makes the value prop immediately clear. The dashboard got the same treatment — we migrated state management to Zustand, redesigned the overview, portfolio, and saved domains views, and tightened up the layout across the board.

On the search side, we added a streaming cache so repeat lookups are near-instant, and the results page is now more responsive with better visual hierarchy. We also introduced TLD upgrade prompts that suggest premium extensions based on your search, and clearer search limit notifications so free plan users always know where they stand.

FastDomain in a New Look

What's New

  • Streaming Search Cache: Repeat domain lookups are now served from a streaming cache, making them near-instant. The first search still queries every registrar in real time, but subsequent searches for the same domain hit the cache and stream results back immediately. This dramatically speeds up the experience when you're comparing options or revisiting a search.
  • TLD Upgrade Prompts: When you search for a domain, we now suggest premium TLD alternatives you might not have considered. If you search for example.com, you'll see contextual suggestions for extensions like .io, .dev, or .ai with their prices right there. It's a quick way to discover extensions that might be a better fit for your project.
  • Search Limit Notifications: Free plan users now see clear, real-time notifications about their remaining searches. Instead of hitting a wall with no context, you'll see exactly how many searches you have left and what upgrading unlocks. The messaging is friendly and informative, not pushy.

Improvements

  • Landing Page Redesign: Completely rebuilt with a new layout, hero section, and updated demo video. The page now communicates what FastDomain does within seconds of landing. The content structure is cleaner, the search input is more prominent, and the overall design feels more polished and modern.
  • Dashboard Overhaul: Migrated state management to Zustand for snappier interactions. The overview, domain portfolio, and saved domains views have all been redesigned with better layouts, improved data density, and more intuitive navigation. Everything feels faster and more cohesive.
  • Search Results Layout: The DomainResults and TLD overview grid have been rebuilt for better responsiveness. Prices are easier to scan, the layout adapts better to different screen sizes, and the overall hierarchy makes it quicker to find the cheapest option at a glance.
  • Sign-In Page: Simplified the auth layout with a cleaner, more focused design. The page loads faster and puts the sign-in action front and center without unnecessary distractions.
  • Pricing & Savings: Enhanced savings callouts across the dashboard and web app. You now see clearer value props showing how much you can save compared to registrar list prices, making the upgrade decision easier.
  • Navigation Cleanup: Moved the language selector from the navbar to the footer, freeing up space in the main navigation for a cleaner, less cluttered header.

TLD Pricing & New Landing Page

This one has been in the works for a while. We built a full TLD pricing explorer that lets you compare what every registrar charges for any extension — .com, .io, .dev, .ai, and 400+ others. You pick a TLD, and we show you every registrar's price side by side. No more opening six tabs to compare.

Prices refresh automatically in the background using scheduled jobs, so the data you see is always current. We also completely rebuilt the landing page — new layout, new hero section, new content structure. The search input is wider and works properly on mobile now, which was long overdue.

What's New

  • TLD Pricing Explorer: Compare registration prices for any TLD across all supported registrars in one table. Pick an extension like .com or .dev and instantly see what GoDaddy, Namecheap, Porkbun, Spaceship, and others charge for it. No more switching between registrar websites to find the best deal.
  • TLD Grid View: A dense, scannable table that shows every registrar's price for a given TLD. Columns are sortable so you can quickly find the cheapest option. Useful if you're buying in bulk or just want to see the full market at a glance.
  • Auto-Refresh Pricing: TLD prices update automatically in the background via scheduled jobs. We pull fresh data from every registrar on a regular cadence so you're never looking at stale numbers. If a registrar drops their price, you'll see it without having to refresh.

Improvements

  • Landing Page: Completely rebuilt from scratch with a new layout, hero section, and content structure. The page now communicates what FastDomain does much more clearly, with a focus on the price comparison value prop.
  • Search Input: Wider input field that takes up more of the viewport, especially on mobile. The old one was cramped and hard to tap on smaller screens. Also improved the autocomplete behavior and loading states.
  • Search Results: Cleaner layout with better visual hierarchy. Prices are easier to scan and registrar logos are more prominent so you can quickly identify who's cheapest.

Leaderboard & Scoring Redesign

We added a leaderboard where you can see how your domain portfolio stacks up against other investors. It ranks users by portfolio size and gives you a sense of where you stand in the community. It's a small thing, but it adds a competitive element that makes the platform more fun to use.

We also completely redrew the AI scoring gauge — the old one was hard to read at a glance and didn't communicate the score well enough. The new version is cleaner and more intuitive. On top of that, we cleaned up the sign-in page, redesigned the pricing page to show plans side by side, and adjusted the free plan search limits with better messaging about what you get.

What's New

  • Leaderboard: See how your domain portfolio ranks against other investors on the platform. We rank by the number of owned domains and display the top performers. It adds a competitive element and helps you gauge how active other users are.
  • Better Price Alerts: Reworked the entire alert management flow. Setting a target price is now more intuitive, and the notification emails are cleaner with direct links to the registrar. We also improved how alerts are stored and triggered in the background.

Improvements

  • AI Scoring Gauge: Completely redrawn from scratch. The old gauge was a simple arc that was hard to read, especially at the extremes. The new version uses a clearer visual scale with color gradients and a more prominent score display so you can instantly tell if a domain scores well.
  • Sign-In Page: Simplified the layout and removed unnecessary clutter. The Google OAuth button is now front and center, and the page loads faster since we removed some heavy assets that were being loaded unnecessarily.
  • Pricing Page: Redesigned to show all plans side by side in a comparison table. You can now easily see what each tier includes without scrolling between separate cards. Feature differences are highlighted so the upgrade path is clear.
  • Free Plan Limits: Adjusted the number of searches available on the free plan and added clearer messaging about what's included. Users now see exactly how many searches they have left and what upgrading unlocks, rather than hitting a vague wall.

Bug Fixes

  • Name.com Prices: Fixed an issue where some TLDs from Name.com showed as unavailable when they were actually purchasable. The problem was in how we parsed their API response for certain newer extensions.

Domain Portfolio & 3 New Registrars

This is probably the biggest update we've shipped so far. You can now track all your domains in one place — add them to your portfolio, verify ownership, and we'll monitor renewal dates and price changes in the background. If something is about to expire, we'll email you before it's too late.

We also added four new registrars: Dynadot, Spaceship, Squarespace, and Vercel Domains. That means even more price comparison data and better coverage across the market. Oh, and there's a blog now — available in English, German, and Spanish — where we'll post guides, market insights, and platform updates.

What's New

  • Domain Portfolio: Save your domains, verify ownership, and track everything in one place. We show you renewal dates, current registrar, and price history. The portfolio view gives you a bird's-eye view of your entire domain investment and makes it easy to spot domains that need attention.
  • Blog: We launched a blog with posts available in English, German, and Spanish. Expect guides on domain investing, registrar comparisons, market trends, and platform updates. Each post is written by us, not generated — we care about quality over quantity here.
  • Dynadot Integration: Full registration and renewal pricing from Dynadot. We pull their prices via API and keep them updated alongside all other registrars. Dynadot is popular with bulk buyers so this was a highly requested addition.
  • Spaceship, Squarespace & Vercel Domains: Three more registrars added to the comparison engine. Spaceship is known for competitive pricing, Squarespace for convenience, and Vercel Domains for developer workflows. More registrars means better price coverage for you.
  • Background Price Checks: We periodically check the prices of your saved domains across all registrars and notify you if anything changes. If a registrar drops their renewal price or a better deal appears elsewhere, you'll know about it without having to manually search.
  • Renewal Reminders: Email notifications sent before your domains expire. We check expiry dates daily and send reminders at 30, 7, and 1 day before expiration. No more accidentally losing a domain because you forgot to renew.
  • Promo Codes: Support for discount codes and promotional banners. When a registrar is running a sale or we have a partnership deal, you'll see it highlighted in the search results alongside the regular price.

Streaming Search Results

Search used to wait until every single registrar responded before showing you anything. That meant you'd stare at a loading spinner for 5+ seconds while the slowest registrar finished its lookup. Not great.

Now results stream in as each registrar answers. You see the first prices within a second or two, and the rest fill in as they arrive. We added skeleton loaders so it's clear which registrars are still loading, and the whole experience feels dramatically faster even though the total time is roughly the same. We also went through and improved the German and Spanish translations across the entire app.

What's New

  • Streaming Results: Prices now show up as each registrar responds, rather than waiting for all of them to finish. The first results typically appear within 1-2 seconds. Each registrar card transitions from a skeleton state to showing the actual price, so you can start comparing immediately while slower registrars are still being queried.
  • Skeleton Loaders: While results are streaming in, placeholder cards show exactly where each registrar's price will appear. The skeletons match the final layout so there's no jarring layout shift when the real data loads. It makes the whole experience feel faster and more polished.

Improvements

  • Translations: Went through the entire app and improved the German and Spanish translations. Fixed awkward phrasings, updated placeholder text, and made sure all new features from recent updates are properly translated. The app should now feel native in all three languages.

Price Alerts & WHOIS

Two features we've been wanting to build for a while. First, price alerts: set a target price for any domain and we'll email you when a registrar drops below it. It's still in beta, so there might be rough edges, but the core functionality works and we're actively improving it.

Second, WHOIS lookups. You can now check registration info, owner details, nameservers, and expiry dates right from the search results. No need to go to a separate WHOIS tool — it's all inline. We also added NameSilo as a supported registrar, which rounds out our coverage nicely since they're one of the most popular choices for bulk domain investors.

What's New

  • Price Alerts (Beta): Set a target price for any domain and TLD combination, and we'll monitor registrar prices in the background. When any registrar drops below your target, you get an email notification with a direct link to purchase. You can manage all your alerts from the dashboard and adjust or remove them at any time.
  • WHOIS Lookup: Check domain registration details without leaving FastDomain. We show the registrant info (when available), nameservers, creation date, expiry date, and registrar of record. The data pulls from WHOIS servers in real time, so it's always current. Useful for checking if a domain is taken, who owns it, and when it might become available.
  • NameSilo: Added as a new registrar in our comparison engine. NameSilo is popular with bulk domain investors because of their consistently low prices and free WHOIS privacy. Their registration and renewal prices now show up alongside all other registrars in search results.
